Kenneth R. Hardman
By Ken Hardman
In Get a Grip, a young engineer is astonished to be assigned to an experienced team responsible for developing critical automation in the manufacture of smart phones. She travels with the team on a foreign customer visit, participates in creative concept generation, and helps the team through difficult setbacks and technical problems.
Ken Hardman graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer. As of this writing, he has worked 30 years in the aerospace and industrial automation fields defining, creating, researching, evaluating, managing, testing, and supporting satellites, aircraft, test equipment, and industrial automation. As an Adjunct Faculty, Ken has mentored and coached engineering students for many of those years. He loves to solve design problems, create useful solutions and encourage others to do the same.

Design, Fabrication and Testing of a Wet Legume Dehulling Machine
Abstract
The traditional method of dehulling legumes such as cowpea, soya beans and locust beans is by rubbing the seeds between the palms or by pounding in mortar but this process consumes time and energy. A motorized wet type legume dehuller was designed and fabricated to de-hull soaked seeds. It was designed to work on the principle of compression for the splitting of the soaked seed coat. The de-hulling is achieved by shear and friction between the beans coat and the wall of the de-hulling chamber. The device was designed and fabricated using locally available materials and technology. The motorized legume de-huller operates at effective de-hulling speed of 438 rpm and achieved a maximum efficiency of 95.2% for 6 minutes soaking period for cowpea, 72.2% efficiency for soya beans soaked in hot water for 30 minutes and 62.5% efficiency for 15 hours cooking period for locust beans, The de-huller was designed for feed rate of 500 seeds per second.
Keywords: legume, dehulling, abrasive, strength, soaking period

MODELLING AND FABRICATION OF SEMIAUTOMATIC PNEUMATIC NUMBER AND WORD PUNCHING ON METAL JOB MACHINE
By stevan_mark
Now a day’s every manufacturing or production
industries are trying for fast production with minimizing
production lost by increasing production of product. But in this
list company does not want to compromise in this lest company
does not want to compromise in production quality. In every
manufacturing industry, product is specified by special numbers
or component drawing number for future reference. For this
small scale industry may punch the special number by manually
with hand one by one punch. But their punching time of number
is more and not properly maintaining equal space between two
word or number, depth of word or number and finishing in the
punching. Now a days this work is completed by the computer
rise machine for that the cost of installing of machine is very
high. In this project work, we design a semi automatic pneumatic
punching machine with very less cost comparing to computer
machine and try to maintain same quality of punching.
