CNC stands for computer numerical control, that is in order to run it you should code with CNC programme combination of G-codes and M-codes

HMC and VMC based on their spindle orientation Horizontal Machining centre (HMC) and Vertical Machining center (VMC)

Please note

CNC HMC and CNC VMC is never used in the industrial language because when somebody says VMC or HMC its directly understood that they are CNC controlled, it must be noted that even manual control VMC and HMC are available however rapid automation might have changed it to a easily to used machine.

Most importantly

According to books a machine is called Machining centre only when it has option of holding multiple tool, extra attachment and acquire bigger area comparitivily and cable of producing something unique, however it is just in books.
