# calculation of the reactions forces on a welded joint

## Homework Statement:

The welded joint shown below has the following geometric characteristic : s=8 mm h=120 mm b=300 mm, a=10 mm, the joint is made of steel S355 (with fu=510 Mpa)and is loaded with two external forces P1=8KN et P2=8KN (look at the image below)
Calculate:
-The vertical reaction acting on the most critical weld line?
-the horizontal reaction acting on the most critical weld line?

## Relevant Equations:

Stresses in the welded joint

Here is my solution I just need it to be confirmed

Your hand written work is much too difficult to read. Can you put this into a computer written format, please?

I've found out this results. I need to consider that the "a" point is in the middle of the triangle. And I considered the Resultant force in the plane of the weld. There's muche time since I use this kind of mathematics. I'll be very pleased if someone check it out.
