It indicates the type of iron and it's phase according to the percentage of carbon(X _ axis) and temperature(y _ axis).

*As you go right the percentage of carbon increase :

1. C ( 0% - 2.14%) steel.

2. C (2.14% - 6.7%) cast iron.

*As you go up the temperature increases :

1. Ferrite iron (Alfa) it can contain carbon up to .006% you can say it's pure iron. ranged from 0℃ to 911℃ it's cell like BCC.

2. Austonite iron (Gama) it can contain carbon up to 2.14% depends on the temperature. Ranged from 911℃ to 1392℃ it's cell like FCC.

3.delta ferrite (delta) it can contain carbon up to .02% depends on the temperature. Ranged from 1392℃ to 1539℃
