  1. You may know when we compress the air in a closed chamber rapidly, considerable amount of heat produced cause of internal collision and rubbing of air molecules, in diesel engine, first stroke suck the air and fuel injector injects the fuel, now when piston moves up, the air and fuel mixture heats up and fuel gets ignited, the heat produced by rapidly compressed air is used to ignite the diesel...thus it doesn't need spark plug
