Least count is the value of one division of vernier scale.Since we take the vernier value with the particular vertical line of vernier scale that exactly concides with the vertical line of main scale while measurement,we have to add this value with main scale value.For example say,n th line of vernier scale matches with a particular division of main scale,the final reading will be value of main scale reading+value of n th line of vernier scale x Least count(i.e value of one div of vernier scale).

1.Weather machine RPM can be changed.
2.Consider resonance factor.Look for possibility of change in natural frequency of machine structure/Foundation.

In most of the products made as per design need some modifications after the product has been practically tried and this can not be termed as failed design
Also,a perfectly designed machine may fail during use due to number of other related factor such as operational parameters like pressure,temperature,environment,load,speed.Also,it must be ensured that the personnel operating the machine have got necessary technical skills.
In short,before declaring a failed design,thorough analysis must be carried out to pin point the cause of failure.

What I meant was the wheel assembly will adjust itself when it comes on a curved track from a straight one..

I agree with Mr Reid
.Machining of wheel outside diameter with a taper profile eliminates need of differential in  rail wagon.This taper has got a direct relationship with curvature of the rail track.Also,the final machining of wheel outside diameter is accomplished with fine grinding operation.This helps to man over the axle assembly to slide left or right depending upon left or right turn.When the car takes a left turn,wheel on left track has to travel less distance than the right one hence the smaller diameter area of the left wheel will be in contact with the track.Similarly,right side larger diameter of wheel will be active so that right side wheel can travel more distance.

I can let you know few reasons:
1.In case of butane/Dissolved acetylene cylinder,it is due to safety of pressure regulator.
Butane/Dissolved acetylene cylinder and the pressure regulator have got matching left hand thread so that the butane regulator can not fitted in oxygen cylinder even by mistake.
2.Single locking nut with a left hand thread prevents component from loosening on the shaft.So,as the drive shaft rotates,the component tightens over the shaft because of opposite direction of the shaft thread and direction of rotation of shaft.Example-Kitchen mixer
3.In a turn buckle,one side thread is left hand so that when the buckle is rotated,the cable is loosened or tightened depending upon direction of rotation.
4.In some application it is only a convention without any logical reason.

S.K.Das Gupta-A supercharger is a blower that supplies additional air to the engine.Part of the engine power is used to drive the supercharger.
Turbocharger also a blower that supplies additional air to the engine.Waste gases from engine is used to drive the turbocharger

S.K.Das Gupta-As far as I am aware,standard exhists for any engineering product.You may refer ISO standard in this regard.
