power augmentation

Recommended Posts

I have been having thoughts of developing a more efficient aero piston engine that consumes less on fuel but still delivers on power output and overall engine reliability...I came across the power recovery turbine used in the wright radial engines that were capable of attaining +3000 hp..can such systems be incorporated into the modern aircraft engine.

Find the nearest tractor pull and you will get many new ideas to make more power. I once water injected a V4 outboard on a 13 foot boat that briefly flew with a 40-ft rooster tail... until it ripped the thing right off the transom. Of course, more power is not a plus for an aircraft engine. The FAA is obsessed with safety and couldn't care less about power. Forget aircraft... think swamp boat!
